For some reason when using Chrome and doing a Google search swype no longer inserts spaces. It used to and it works fine everywhere else. I have auto space checked. I checked with the Samsung guy at best buy and he was no help. His answer was don't use swype. Any help would be appreciated

Me, too. In my case, it happened apparently as a result of the OTA update to Marshmallow. (Verizon, Note 4)

I have Auto-Spacing checked in Swype, just as I've always had. I vaguely remember something about a setting in Chrome, too, but can't find any related settings this time around.

Just wanted to add my voice, no problem entering text in this text box, for example, but in the search bar? No spaces.

    ok...
I got the answer.... it is a Google thing.......

If you go to the google page in the browser and start to type, google switches it to the URL window....

Since URL's do not have spaces in them, swype will NOT insert there.....

So the fix is use the Google Widget for searching and you will get spaces, not the web page.

You may not want the widget sitting on your desktop but it is the only fix I can find for this......

I hope this helps everyone else who has this issue....

I recently updated my Samsung gal S5 to marshmallow and the functionalityof swype is terrible! No spaces, backspace Doesnt erase the entire word, the trace shows even tho its turned off. I'm very disappointedsince texting is PITA anywhere. ..guess I will go back to Samsung or try another app
