I am only getting 4/5 hours of sceen time and before i was getting 6 hours of sceen time on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

Is it this normal? And it is because that i have over charged the battery sometimes.

On my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 i was getting a least 6 hours of sceen time on a single charge.

So are you saying that you used to get 6 hours of screen time on your current Tab Pro, or on your old Tab 2, or both?

Has your usage pattern changed recently? Installed any new apps? Playing a new game?

Do you typically start charging the battery when it gets down to 30-40%, or do you routinely let it run down close to zero? If the latter, that can reduce the overall lifespan of a battery.

I use to get 6 hours of sceen time now it is always 4 hours on my Tab Pro 8.4 and i get 6 hours of sceen time on my Old Tab 2 7.

My usage patten has not changed at tall since i 1st got it in last May.

Yes i always charge the battery from 5% to 100% all the time(nearly every day).

The battery life is very BAD for a tablet comparing to the likes of Ipad Air 2, Nexus 9 and all so Samsung claimed the battery life will be for normal use is 10 hours but that is NOT even close! :/

I get approx. 8% battery loss per hour while surfing or other heavy use (12 hrs if down to dead battery). I generally recharge at 20 - 50%. Not an expert, but would think you may have a bad battery. I got the Tab 4 Pro because of long battery life & good memory.

I don't do any gaming on my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, but I get about 8-9 hours of SoT on mine.

This is ridiculous tonight my battery was around 20% i was browsing the web and watching a video and all of the sudden battery just lost about 18% charge in under 5 minutes down to 2%.

And i am still getting ridiculously low battery life 3/4 hours instead of 5/6 hours of sceen time on a single charge and i keep losing like 20% per hour on a single charge when in use.

This is ****** stupid, it should NOT be happening, i am getting fed of all of the problems i having with my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

This makes want to get rid of it or sell it and get a Ipad Air 2.

It kind of sounds like a bad or failing battery. How old is the device? Do you typically let it run all the way down to zero (or close to it) before charging up? That can reduce the overall lifespan of a battery.

That might be part of it. Regular deep discharges can shorten the lifespan of a battery. See this article: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

Should i factory reset my Tab Pro 8.4 again? and see if the battery life lmproves so i can get about 6 hours of sceen time again

And when i am playing a game(Flick Soccer 15) i am losing about 2% per minute most of the time and that should not be happening.

If the factory reset don't improve the battery life, i might sell it because battery life(4 hours of sceen time) is ridiculously bad on a single charge.

The battery life is starting to be a deal breaker for me i bet the Samsung Galaxy Tab S has way better battery life!

I have a Windows 8 tablet Acer Iconia W700 with a I5 Core CPU and the battery life only last about 3 hours on a single charge but the battery life does not bother me as much as it is a Windows 8 tablet.

So i have installed Apex Launcher today and i won't be factory resetting my Tab Pro 8.4 for a couple days now.

Hopefully Apex Launcher will improve the battery life..

As mentioned above, since you routinely discharge the battery deeply with each use, it's possible that the battery is wearing out more quickly than usual. This would be a battery issue, not a software issue. In this situation, the only way to improve the battery life would be to replace the whole battery.

I am also having the battery problems with my Samsung Galaxy S 8.4. Can I recalibrate the battery? I've also seen a website with a long life battery. Not sure about that one. Where would be the best place to order a new battery?

Its been mentioned a couple times now and is true -- taking the battery from full charge to (near) full discharge will shorten the life. Best to re-charge when it hits 20-40%. Of course, that's not always possible.

Also, take the battery reading with a grain of salt. It is extraordinarily difficult to estimate the actual remaining battery life with any accuracy without the use of a fuel gauge IC. Most manufacturers don't want to pay for that, so they use rough approximations which can be way off. Accurate reading depends on temperature, discharge rate/profile and battery age, all plugged into a sophisticated algorithm. (I'm a field engineer working for a semiconductor company that sells these)

Of course, if you're getting way below the advertised charge time (I'm sure the published numbers stretch the truth a bit, like car gas mileage), then I'd guess your battery is worn out or was defective at the start.

When I hit 20% on my battery, I usually get 6.5 hors of use. That with 90% internet use.....I would probably get longer battery life withou using the internet so much. :-)
