Why won't some videos play on my Tab S 10.5?

Some videos won't play on my tab S 10.5

I have the tab s 10.5. I drag and drop my video files on to my ext SD. The Tabs asks if I want to convert. I click yes. But a lot of perfectly good files will not play on my device even though they are fine on my PC.

Any ideas what it might be? I've tried Mx player with codecs. VLC and the default player to no avail.

Have you tried not hitting convert and just letting them move over to the card?

Don't convert them. Just copy them over.
