Help! Lollipop update causing problems on Tab S 10.5

I have had a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 for about 8 months. Fabulous device. Auto update sis on by default. 5 or 6 days ago I was prompted to install Lollipop 5.0.2, an 185Mb download. I promptly did so.

Big mistake. I have 2 serious issues;
1. battery drain makes it almost unusable. I can literally watch the meter drop with just plain internet browsing. It will drain maybe 15% or more in an hour
2. I use Chrome as browser of choice. Now I get frequent "Aw Snap" freezes when I never had any before.

I am sure I am not the only one. Hopefully someone can suggest some fixes for this buggy O.S. If I could revert to KitKat without a factory reset I would, I dislike this so much.

All help gratefully accepted

Thanks

Did you do the app updates....? Also , did you close all apps running before the update and power off your tablet? Yes, I know that the Tab S reboots after the update......I still powered off the Tab S as I did with my S5 (on the S5, I flushed the data cache also) after the update to Lollipop and haven't encountered any problems. My Tab S was updated yesterday.

The update prompt was there when I powered up so no apps were running. The Tab S rebooted after installation. I also flushed out the cache.

Anyone had similar issues successfully resolved. All assistance appreciated.

I have tried clearing the cache powering off and on. My view is that Lollipop is crap on my 10.5 Galaxy. Dreadful.

Can anyone suggest the best way to revert to KitKat.

Thanks

Is it possible to revert to Kitkat??? That would be awesome! I have the same battery drain issue with the update although not sure about chrome, haven't bothered to check since I use other devices and am selling this now next to worthless piece of machinery.
How can I revert to my beloved and wonderful kitkat?
Thanks

Did you wipe the cache partition (from the recovery screen, *not* clearing the cache from within the device)? This is pretty much a necessity after installing a major upgrade. Did you do a factory reset? Might not be something fun, but it can certainly help.

Did you install anything recently? Some apps interact poorly with Lollipop (I noticed Firefox drained the battery quite a bit, for instance). It might be a good idea to see if there's any apps that are eating an inordinate amount of battery and uninstall them to see if things improve.

The last post was in July 2015? Has the problem solved since then with update to lollipop in the tab S 10.5???

I would also like to know if there has been a fix. I had a Google Nexus 7 that received the update and after months and countless hours I was unable to resolve all the issue caused by the Lollie Pop upgrade which in frustration resulted in me buying a Samsung TabS. 5 days after getting it I was asked to upgrade...well that is not going to happen untill I am sure it is stable. It should never have been release to the community after the failures that occured on Googles flagship Nexus

I temporarily (hopefully) bricked my 10.5 Tab s a couple days ago replacing the batt. (See other thread). I have another one on order.
I was also occasionally getting the snap message and thought it was something to do with the Tab....but now I'm experiencing the same (even worse) problem with my old Nook HD+ that I took out of retirement.
I proceeded to reset my Nook, and the problem is still present.
Wondering if this has something to do with Comcast.

I also am having trouble with the lollipop update. I want to go back to kitkat 4.4.2.
Any help would be nice.
Oh, I dont need any responses like turn the power off and reboot.
Just where is the file for kitkat and steps to reload it.
Thanks

Kevin, Almost having identical problem with the tab s 10.5. Turned it on and an update screen came up. Clicked to update and it went through the process. When it completed and restarted it gets to the next screen after the music. That screen is all black and has white "Samsung" letters with tiny colored dots flashing behind it. That's it. It just continues doing this and the battery (I think) is really getting hot.
Did you ever find out what caused your problem?
I am like you, I don't want any of the turn off, check battery, etc., etc. stuff. I have done all that with same results. Now I am looking for a constructive answer.

It appears no one has an answer to the issues related to lolliepop not even Samsung, they are a very unhelpful bunch of people. I still haven't updated and am happily still running Kit Kat. Samsung apparently will not be releasing Marshmallow for the Tab S 10.5. So I will keep using mine until it dies and replace it with a NON Samsung product. The lack of customer support from them is horrific. Samsung products are now on my never to touch again list

Marshmallow is being rolled out to Tab S 10.5 in the USA. But can you get your Marshmallow if you have not had your Lollipop????

In the course of looking for something else, I did see instructions on how to clear the system cache - not the app cache - on the Tab S 10.5. It involved pressing and hold some of the buttons, but you will need to search for it on Google. I didn't write it or the location down, sorry.

Samsung customer service: Is there a Best Buy store near you? There are Samsung stories with a store in some Best Buys staffed with specialists on Samsung products. Since there is a store close to me, I just stop in. Service has been very good.
