Late last week I got an update for my WiFi 10.5 that left me on v5..0.2 and build LRX22G. I noticed that the Smart Manager app was added, which includes an optimization option. By default it tracks which apps I use and attempts to optimize battery life by controlling those I don't use often. I can override the decision on an app by app basis.

I've seen discussion of this tool over in the Samsung S6 forum.

This is sort of similar to the app optimization that is in the new Marshmallow 6.0. I have 6.0 on my Nexus devices and the app optimization really works great on saving the battery.
