    It's finally here!

Today my Tab S 10.5 LTE auto updated to Marshmallow.

I bought the tablet without a carrier, so I don't know when other tablets with carriers will get the update.

Could it still be poassible that the wifi version (exynos chipset) might not get the update compared to the LTE (snapdragon chipset)?

Ah, the playing of devils advocate.
I hope they don't pull this crap, it would be a cheap move from Samsung IMHO

In Germany Samsung is currently updating the LTE versions.

When I sent an email to Samsung Germany in July this is part of the response I received.

Actually our software developers are testing the Android 6 Marshmallow firmware on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE. At this stage we can not mention detailed information or a fix date for the roll out of the update. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
They specifically mentioned the LTE version and not the wifi Tab S. Still not sure if this was deliberate. Hopefully they will update all versions of the Tab S.

Samsung has started rollout for the SM-700 (that is, the Tab S 8.4 Wifi) so it shouldn't be long now before it gets to the Tab S 10.5 Wifi as well.

Got it this morning for the 10.5 WiFi 32GB(US). Funny story though. This morning I sat down with my coffee, opened my tablet and began my usual routine...checking to see if there was an update available. I'm so used to disappointment that it took a second for it to register that it was downloading marshmallow!
Then the ironic part occurred. I had forgotten to charge the damn tablet! It had only 1% charge remaining. As I was debating canceling the download until it had more juice, Samsung decided for me and it shut off...right in the middle of the download!
So here I am STILL waiting for the update lol. Sometimes it doesn't pay to get out of bed...

Wow, the main reason I wanted this was for the adoptable storage since I only have 16gb of storage. Samsung didn't include adoptable storage in their marshmallow build.

That was the main reason I wanted the upgrade too. Have you been able to confirm that this is definitely not possible? I've been looking at how to change the default storage for a couple of hours now, but am reluctant to format my sd card and find I only have the portable storage option.

I messed with it a while and even formatted my SD card. Then I did a google search and it isn't there.

I actually just confirmed this with Samsung through Twitter. I'm really upset they limited the one feature that people really wanted from this update. I haven't wanted to deal with rooting the device, but it seems like the only way to get something that's truly functional.

My Samsung Tab S 10.5 (wifi, model T800) just received an OTA Marshmallow 6.0.1 update from Samsung... but it doesn't seem to have worked. It was running Lollipop previously and I was shocked to see a Marshmallow update already downloaded and waiting to install today as I expected it to be stuck at Lollipop for good. This is just a wifi model (not from a cellular carrier).

I ran the update and even though the About Phone area says it's on 6.0.1 and the firmware version is now MMB29K.T800XXU1CPH7 it still looks and seems to work EXACTLY the same way as it did before the update. The app icons on my homescreen are the same, the whole user interface is the same, Settings is laid out exactly the same way as before, when I double press the home button the camera app doesn't start up (it still starts up S Voice like it always did). I'm kind of baffled here. After the update on the first startup I had to choose between two launchers; Touchwiz or a kids launcher, so I chose Touchwiz. Also, I tried restarting it and when I did it updated two more apps on the turquoise gears screen before starting up again. Still looks like its on Lollipop though. I tried another restart and it restarted normally. Still looks and acts like its on Lollipop. The only noticeable differences I can see is that the Samsung logo is all white now when the tablet boots up and there's a little round user (light blue with a white face) icon to the right of the battery icon on the lock screen that wasn't there before. That's it.

Any ideas? It seems like I should see a much bigger difference than this after a major update, and I know how Marshmallow looks and works because I have a Note 5 as well. This went from being a great surprise to a total letdown :/
