GPS only works intermittently after Nougat update

What do you mean by works intermittently, as it should only come on when called by an app that needs accurate location? You can turn it off and just use the less accurate location method.

It came on right away before and now it seems it doesn't come on at all until I fiddle with it turning the GPS test apps on and off. I used to turn the GPS test app on and almost immediately I'd get a 3D satellite fix.

Under Settings>Connections>Location>Locating Method you can set to use WiFi only, turning GPS off. But it does require that you be in range of WiFi networks to get location information (but not logged into them).

I had everything turned on there under Connections, Sparksd. Maybe it was a one time thing for some reason. It seems to be OK now.

The gps on my SM-T713 was never too snappy even under marshmallow. Under nougat, it seems even slower in aquiring the gps location.
