Fingerprint Scanner

The fingerprint scanner on my S2 has not been working well the last 3 or 4 weeks. It does not recognize my fingerprint on a consistent basis. I have entered and added new fingerprints. It may recognize once or twice and then stop recognizing again. I do note that with the winter season and lots of recent frequent hand washing, my hands are very dry.

Does anybody else have fingerprint scanner issues?

I haven't had any issues. I doubt it's cold, dry weather. If anything, that would make it work better. It's POSSIBLY a driver issue. Next time, instead of deleting your prints, try clearing your cache and reboot. As a LAST resort, back up your data and factory reset.

If you are still having issues, it could be a hardware issue.

I think it may just be my fingerprint, and not the device. The skin was getting very dry and rough from the cold weather. The fingerprint recognition was much worse after lots of handwashing. The last few days have warmed up and my skin does not feel as dry, and the scanner performance has been better.
