The attached photo shows what I mean by "vertical banding" issue. It was taken in a dark room, at ~50% screen brightness, while playing this YouTube test video:

Essentially, I only see the banding when using the screen in a dark room, and it is show a large area of blank in grey color; e.g., every time I launch Netflix, at the start screen with just the red Netflix logo in a grey background.
Apparently "vertical banding" is quite common for OLED screens, based on the number of hits (OLED TVs) when I googled it.
Does it happen to your S5e?
