Galaxy Tab Might be bricked - Help Needed

I have my daughter's galaxy tab that seems to be bricked. its a SPH-P100 (Sprint).
my son was fooling around with it and left it in the following state:ys the following:

Android system recovery <3e>

Enter: OK Key, Select : Vol Up / Vol Down
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

Can anyone help me to fix this? or is it just an electronic paperweight now?

I think he was trying to (I don't know the Android term) jail brake it.
When I reboot it the above screen scroll up. The factory reset
brings the same screen back up.

Android equivalent is flash. First you root your phone, which gives you root access to Android, then you flash a custom ROM, which is a custom version of Android.

A lot of those errors are relating to cache. What happens when you try and wipe cache?

When i try to wipe cache the following comes up;
