Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Blue screen then off when attempting to charge

I have a Galaxy tab 4 10.1 and have a frustrating problem, I have been using it a lot to miracast to my TV watching videos, due to power usage during this activity I have tended to leave it on charge. Tonight in the middle of a film it suddenly went to a blue screen and then dead I have tried various methods to get it back on which eventually after some reading on here i managed to do, but only after taking it off charge. It stayed on until the bnattery was nearly depleted when i plugged the charger back in it did the same blue screen and off again and subsequently again at every attemp to charge, any ideas??
