I have a shortwave radio, and I'd like to be able to record portion of what I can hear on my radio. Of course back in the 80's, there was the good old tape cassette connected through the aux jack (which I can't solve myself to do).

But now of course, the problem is that there is no auxiliary jack on a Samsung tablet.....anyone can help ?

Welcome to the forums. Have you looked at USB microphones? Does the tablet have a built in mic? If the radio has audio out jacks you might find a USB adapter to capture that direct to the tablet. If I knew which tab you had I could move your post to that forum.

Thanks for your time, I appreciate.
Well, The radio is an Icom R9000. There seems to be several ways to connect it, but can't seem to find specificaly the "audio out". There is a "rec" jack in the front of the receiver. I'd like to be able to send a picture, but can't join one, unfortunately....:-(

Oh and for the version of my tablet, it's a Samsung 5.0.2

A "rec" jack on a radio is normally "record out", so you can connect a cord from that to the earphone/mic input jack on the phone. (You'll have to find one with the right plugs on each end, but they're probably 3mm plugs.)

BTW, "Samsung" is okay, but "5.0.2" is just the version of Android it's running - there's another number (with a letter or two) that's the model of the phone - probably in "About Device" in Settings.

Well, I tried to connect the "rec" of the radio to the earphone slot of my tablet, doesn't work. I even went to an electronic store this morning and we even tried through the usb of the tablet, but no can do. There must be something we're not doing right...

    I gâ
I gathered some infos about the tablet :

    Model number : SM-T530NU

    Kernel version : 3.4.0-10845349dpi@SWDD6816#1

    Version : LRX22G.T530NUUEU1BQC1

My error - sorry. I researched the SM-T530NU further and it seems that you need a microUSB-to-audio adapter to feed sound into that device - but I can't find any. Samsung may have one, but their "little adapters" are usually unreasonably expensive. (Their OTG adapter, which is 2 plugs, 1/2" of wire and a few inches of cable, is close to $50, while you can buy them on eBay - not made by Samsung - for about $1.) The earphone jack appears to be only 3 wires - left, right and ground. (Most Android devices are 4 wires, and include a mic input.)

Ok so, if I get it correctly, this is all I would need ?

Not exactly. For one thing, if you count the silver parts on the plug carefully, you'll notice that there are 4 of them. your tab takes a plug with only 3. for another, Samsung has so many different microUSB arrangements that it's impossible to keep track of them. You need a cable like that but made specifically for your device, and you'll probably find one (if you find one at all) with a jack, not a plug. then you'd need a double-make, 3 lead adapter to be able to "plug the jack" into your device's jack.
