Just had a question about the Watch 4 and chargers. I have a Watch 3 and am getting the Watch 4 Classic and was wondering if there was a difference in the chargers at all?

I am trading my Watch 3 in, but they just want the watch and not everything in the box (if I recall), so will the old Watch 3 charger work on the Watch 4?

    Thanks!

No difference. My watch 4 charger is still in the box. Used the charger from my watch 3 and it works just fine.

The Watch 4 will not charge on the original Galaxy Watch charger. Starts charging and then says charging paused. I don't like the supplied charger because I have a black stainless band and I have to fit the charger in the band and set the watch down carefully for it to charge instead of just dropping it on the charger.

I found that Spigen has a stand that the new style charger fits in so you can just place the watch on it like the original Galaxy Watch - have one on order from Amazon.

I have the Spigen stand. Love it. But I miss having the charging status LED.

Yeah I miss the charging LED from the original Galaxy Watch. I'll take a look at the spigen stand because I'm not impressed with the puck style charger with my black stainless bracelet.

Hey, Hopefully someone can answer a question for me. I was looking around the house for a USB wall plug I could use with the charging puck, because I'll be traveling and wanted to have one and didn't really want to buy another wireless charger. After confirming that the input of the puck is 5.0v/1amp, I found a USB brick that was 5.0v/1000mA(1amp) output and tested it out. It seemed to charge at the same rate, but after a while, it got warm. Not hot, but warm. I took it off before giving a chance to get hotter. Has anyone come up with a USB wall charger that they could use with the puck, and what was the result?

This is counter-intuitive, but try a more powerful wall plug. Maybe a 1.5 or 2.0 amp quality brand. Your current one may be struggling to meet the 1 amp requirement, especially if it's a no-name brand, thus getting warm. Don't worry about a more powerful plug, as it will only push the max required current to the charger.

Think of this like your home electricity. You have a 15 amp (1800 watt) circuit with a 60 watt light bulb on it. The light bulb will only draw the 1/2 amp that it needs.

Thanks for the input. I knew it was more important that the voltage of the plug match the requirements of the puck, and that the puck would only pull the amps needed. My plug was pretty cheep, so i went to look for some samsung, non-fast charging plugs, on Amazon. One entry that came up was the OEM galaxy S3 Frontier charging adapter/puck. And i said, wait a minute, i have one of those in storage. I checked it's specs and it's output is 5.0v/700mA. Slightly less than the output of a USB 3 plug. So i tested that setup against a puck plugged into my desktop and found charging time were the same, plus no heat at all. So i think i've found my answer. Thx.
