So I'm getting a GW4 coming from the original Galaxy Watch Active. My question is about Samsung health on the GW4, since the GW4 is on WearOS instead of Tizen. Does Samsung Health work as good on the GW4 as it did on Tizen watches? Don't really want to have to change, so I'm hoping it's as good or better than before.

My personal opinion is that it does or even better, but then I don't use continous heart rate or heart rate while walking. Others complained about that, but Samsung seems to have fixed that with the latest software update.

Thanks for the info, however I'm more interested in how Samsung Health interacts with the GW4, compared to Samsung Health and the original Galaxy Active.

The same. What's new is Body Composition (Samsung phones only) and improvement in other areas.

Samsung Hearth works great but there's one issue with Wear OS watch faces unless I'm missing something, the watch faces since made for Wear OS is not compatible with Samsung Health only Google Fit. So if you use Samsung Health to track your fitness, sleep etc. Like I do then there will be discrepancies between your step count on the watch face which is pretty annoying. So you'll need to stick with the default watch faces until they can figure that out. Other than that everything else works, looks and feels like as of it where on Tizen.

Thanks for the heads up. First time I've heard of this, since I'm only using one of the default faces.

You do not need to stick to the default faces, you only need to check if they are compatible with Wear 3.0 and Samsung. I have a number of wear 3.0 watch faces and I use Samsung Health and everything works just fine.

Yeah looks like it depends on how it's made. Some don't mention it tho so you'll need to install them and find out.

I don't think any 3rd party watch faces are able to display real time HR, even the ones listed for Wear 3. From the few I've tried, everything else works

I run the health sync app. It synchronizes between various health apps. It is useful for those of us with Samsung Health as it allows you to sync steps and exercises like S Health and Google fit, or Fitbit, etc.

I have not noticed discrepancies in my step count on my watch face and this may be the reason why (Note: it is a periodic update, so there are probably times where it may not be accurate)

I'm using Facer now and the watch faces I've found for it actually do real time HR. But I'm also using paid ones since I have a bunch of Google Play credits. Maybe it's something that gets unlocked if you use the paid versions.
