I want to be able to see my progress of a run or walk on my galaxy watch if I start the workout on my phone. I don't want to keep taking my phone out to check my speed, or distance etc. I prefer using the phone to start workout since it would use the phone's GPS instead of the watch, which will save the battery on the watch. Also if I start a workout on the phone, the watch doesn't log and sync the heart rate to that workout session. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

You will need to start the workouts on the watch, but the watch does not give you the same variety of workouts as the phone.
