What do you think this will be priced at? I think it's going to be the same as the Gear at 299.00, If not more. Samsung doesn't seem to care if people think it's so expensive. I really could see it at like 349.99

I would think it will start off at $299.99 then quickly come down to $249.99 after the buzz about it. You still have to remember that this only works with Samung's phones so they need to price it right...lets hope. : /

Considering they set the price point too high for the GG, and the pebble steel being at 249 as well as the qualcomm toq dropping to 249...i think it will be priced at 249 right out of the gate.

If it's priced at $299 I don't think it will sell well. Needs to be at a max of $249 but the sweet spot is really $199 if they can manage it. I'm just thinking google is going to come out with a watch in the next two months and will price it at $199 or less.....but who knows I guess....

Pricing from what I've heard will be $299.99. Again, I think Samsung is making a big mistake.

Bgr reporting rumored prices of $299 for gear 2 and $199 for neo and fit. Take it with a grain of salt. I would be all over the neo or fit at that price.

I hope you're right, but the prices I've seen are 299 Euros for the Gear 2 which is about $410 and 199 Euros for the Neo and Fit which is about $273.

Fingers crossed the $199 price is right on the neo and fit in the US. That is the perfect price point.

Ill go with the neo, I think a camera on the watch is too much. With the neo for me is enough. I can wait to see the lunch of it and of course the price

I agree!
Being all plastic with out the front face metal on it looks more like for kids or a sports watch then a high-end watch.... Not for me.

I don't think the $299 price is so much a mistake from Samsung's perspective. Samsung has sold over 200 million smartphones based on their own sales numbers as shown at the last Unpacked event. As business people we know they have an internal number of units they need to sell in order to be profitable. Since we don't know what that magic number is, I suspect that they were pleased with the numbers from the original Gear, and thus decided it was worth the investment in making the Gear 2.

Since the Gear is only compatible with Samsung phones, if they were to sell a Gear smartwatch to say a mere 10% of the 200 million smartphone customers they currently have, then that's 20 million smartwatches worldwide. Assuming the average selling price is $215 ($149 for the Fit, $199 for the Gear Neo, and $299 for the Gear 2), they would still see gross sales of over 4 billion dollars. If they only sold to 5% they would see gross sales over $2 billion. I believe they've determined that they don't need to sell a bunch of them, because even at 5 or 10% they would still sell more than Pebble and Sony combined.

So the Gear 2 will be $297, and the Gear fit $197, huge fail. I for one will wait for the Moto 360 and watch Samsung muck another smartwatch up.
