I'm curious what kind of hit everyone's battery life took after getting a Gear 2. I knew that having a wearable connected 24/7 via Bluetooth would drain my battery more, but I just want to see if the drain I'm seeing is normal or excessive.

This isn't to find out how different everyone's battery life is, but how much less it is after the Gear 2. Before buying my Neo I was seeing an average of 3.5 - 4 hours of screen on time. Now I'm seeing about 2.5 - 2.75 so far, so I'm basically losing an hour of screen on time (and proportionally way more overall battery life.) Is everyone else seeing the same? Anyone have any tips on making it better?

I've had my gear 2 connected to my phone since day one so I don't have an answer for you, however, I don't think it takes too much battery to keep the watch and phone connected 24/7. When I go to sleep I have it connected and in an 8 hour sleep I usually wake up to my phone losing 5-6% battery.

Yeah this is crazy, my phone used to have anywhere from 40-60% battery left after I get off work (9-5:30pm) now I'm lucky if I leave work with 20%. My battery life has taken a huge hit since I've gotten my Gear 2 Neo (my Neo's battery life has also actually gotten worse the past few days, but I think that has to do with the watch faces I've been using lately. I'm going to switch back to the stock face tomorrow to test.)

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Gear Manager, restarted my phone and watch, used a different battery with my phone, and cleared system cache on my phone too and nothing. Is this normal? Anyone have tips on improving battery life?

If your battery has gotten noticeably worse since getting the gear watch then maybe you can try going a day without using the watch (turn off the Bluetooth on your phone or just uninstall gear manager all together). If your battery back to the way it used to be then maybe there was something wrong in the way you set up the watch with your phone because it seems like you're getting a massive drop in battery

I don't know how much screen time on my Neo, but I get 2 days and it's down to maybe 30%. My S5 is the same battery as before. I just wear it to work, so maybe 10+hours of checking. I do have it facing me while I watch TV because it's easier to check notifications then picking up my phone and unlocking.

I have one email that gets about 8+ emails a day and another that I get a notification for a message board for each message (small board, few members). Then just a few other notifications.

For the battery drain, mine hasn't changed. Check apps on your watch. I had one to remind me to drink water and it took all my battery on my watch. Once off, my watch worked better.
