Android Central Question

I replaced the battery in my Gear 2 (R380) and now it is frozen at the "Gear 2" home screen. I have tried to "hard reset", but even though I can see the option for "recovery", when I press and hold it, it reboots and gets to the same place. I am assuming that I have the battery installed correctly, as I am getting SOME response?

Any thoughts above and beyond the hard reset?

I have an account and am logged in, now. The battery replacement was pretty straightforward, so not much that I could mess up. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for? If it's not installed correctly, why would it boot at all?

Hi, welcome!
Was the replacement a original?

I put the original back in, and I am getting the same results. Something I am doing wrong?

I thought this was the Gear 2 forum? Where did you move it to?

It was originally in the Ask A Question forum. The Samsung smartwatch forum is fairly well-monitored by avid Samsung smartwatch users, while the general forums won't have quite as many of those enthusiasts around.

If you can see this post, then you're in the right forum. Here's the link for the subforum if you still want it: https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-gear-2-gear-2-neo/

I received a new battery and got the same result. I contacted Samsung to see if they would fix it for me. At first, they made it sound like they would, but when I called to have the repair started, they informed me that the product is EOL. Is there any way for me to reformat the watch and reinstall the original OS?

You've install a different OS on the watch?
