Why did my Gear Fit 2 stop reconnecting automatically?

So, i just got my Gear Fit 2, and i am not much of one for gadgets.

For the most part, i really like it, but i am having issues staying connected or reconnecting with my Galaxy S6 phone.

At first, whenever i walked away from my phone and it disconnected, it would reconnect whenever the phone came back in range, but that has stopped working. If i ever step away from my phone during the day, i have to manually reconnect. Am i missing something?

Also, they seem to disconnect whenever the gear fit is charging -- even when they are close. Is there a setting for this stuff that i can't find?

This is an issue for me as well. Wish someone would help with this. My fitbit did this well, this thing fails miserably
