    I think it wastes too much battery when running. Won't make it through long race. Nike and s health both have continuous hr monitor which is useless to me

    I'd think the GPS tracking takes much more power than HR monitoring unless you have your phone with you and connected to watch with BT. In that case, the GPS of the phone is used instead.

    Not sure HR monitor can be turned off as they are part of those exercise applications.

    There is a PAUSE button in the S-Health app, but I don't know if that turns all S-Health off?
