struggling with remote connection

Note 4 / Gear S
It hasn't been a reliable connection since first purchase, but now I can't get the two devices to connect at all, other than via Bluetooth.
Mobile data is on and working (verified via Opera browser). I've tried with WiFi also, no luck. Requesting connection using Gear app doesn't work.
Would really appreciate any ideas?

Turn wifi off on the watch regardless you use it or not. This should help with remote connection success rate. Remote connection also takes a minute or so delay after you disconnected from BT before the watch tries to connect over cell data connection.

Thanks for suggestion but no luck.
I have, however, just discovered that somehow my phone can be BT connected to both my car and my Gear S simultaneously. I didn't know such a thing was possible!
Now I don't really have a problem anymore
