Just got a new phone (note 5) and trying to figure out how to unpair from my old phone and pair with the new device withOUT resetting to factory settings. Anyone know how to do this with a gear S? Thanks in advance.

It doesn't just find it? I assume you loaded gear manager on the new note 5 or did it come prepared loaded?
Still I would think it would just find it on a Bluetooth scan?

I get my note 5 tomorrow so will be where you are now.

Oh it could find it but it wanted to do a factory reset on the gear S in order to pair it and set it up with the new phone!! I still have it paired with my old phone till I figure this out. If not, our Best Buy store here has Samsung reps in the Samsung department. I'm headed over to there after work tomorrow probably.

Ah I see. Yea when I did a factory reset on my note 4 it also wanted to reset the gear s. I went ahead with it and had no issues.

I guess today I'll have to do the same thing when my note 5 gets delivered.

Let me know what the techs say today.

Good luck

How did it go with yours and setting up with the note 5? I finally just let it factory reset and got everything setup again on mine. So far it's working great.

It works great. Always reconnects quickly. Now im waiting for endomondo to release the new version. It is no longer in the gear apps store.

Yes it did. But I don't have a lot of customization to do. So for me factory reset on the gear s doesn't matter.
