why is the screen on my Samsung Gear S watch failing?

The screen of my Gear S watch appears to be failing. Rather than the HD images I usually get, it has suddenly now only showing the watch face and all other displays as low resolution images.

Send it back to Samsung, get them to fix it or replace it.
