My new samsung gear s3 frontier is not charging and won't open

Just unboxed my gear s3 and placed it on the charging dock; the dock would turn red and after 1.35 mins it starts flashing red. I have read online that it means there is a problem and it won't charge, so i have to remove it and put it again. Unfortunately, nothing is happening. What should i do??

New device? You should be within the warranty, have you contacted Samsung to initiate a replacement?
