I hope somebody figures out a way to root this new android phone with its new update that just came out. The main thing is rooting. Roms and custom recoverys will come on their own time

Apparently you made it nice :) so do you have a replenish to try it on? Because I really don't want to mess my brand new phone like I did my Optimus S

Drewwalton made it ...it shouldn't brick your phone even if it doesn't work. But trying it is up to you. If it locks up just battery pull

The requested URL /DSChargeRoot.zip was not found on this server.

gingerbreak program hangs. It won't go beyond the "Stealing the ginger's soul..." screen.
I waited about 15 minutes just in case it was supposed to take that long but I got nothing. When I do hit the quit button it does close with no problems. If I hit the go button a second time during the stealing the gingers soul hang I get an error message(screen shot attached). The error button details are very detailed and I have copy and pasted it below. I did make sure the phone was successfully in debug mode and I made sure not to pick the usb act as external hard drive button.

I also tried entering your source code. Since I was unable to download the DSChargeRoot.zip I entered the source code via cmd in my android/android-sdk/platform-tools/ folder. I didn't think that would work since it wasn't the DSCharge folder like your instructions, but thought I would try it anyway After I entered the first line of code I hit the enter button assuming that would let me enter the second line of your code right under the first line. Instead of that happening the cmd froze and I had to close cmd. I did make sure the phone was connected by typing in adb device and I did see my phone attached with it's long code of numbers.

Also where do I use the source code zip file you provided? Thanks

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
