Sounds and Alerts

We are trying to figure out how to disable alerts for text and email messages without disabling the phone. Does anyone know how to do this and what about continuous alerts for messages and text? Very frustrated as I have been a blackberry user since they were introduced........

You can disable the alert sound quite easily. Getting rid of the notification in the bar up top is more difficult.

From within the app, press the Menu button and go into settings. It'll be in there.

This will disable the phone sound too???
