Once I got all the apps removed from my Stratosphere I started playing around with undervolting the processor (RHCP's kernel) to help the battery life and charge times a little and have ended up with these final settings. I will update as I lower voltages more but not before I test the settings a little to make sure they are stable. I did test all overclocking frequencies up to the maximum voltage allowance. I used SetCPU for this but another cpu app may work to set these settings.

In order to overlock the Stratosphere you need:
1.)root access - follow this root guide. http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...8539-kernel-guide-root-your-stratosphere.html
2.)RHCP's kernel found here [ Dev Project ] Verizon Samsung Stratosphere Custom Kernel | Welcome to my Personal Site and Blog - And can be flashed to the phone the same as the root kernel once u extract the zImage file from the ZIP archive in the binary link.
3.) SetCPU for android - found on marketplace

Once you have root access on RHCP's kernel with SetCPU installed you can use SetCPU to modify the clock speed and voltage of the processor. I spent about 8 hours finding all the minimum stable voltage settings for each clock speed and these are my results. I would suggest you use cwm recovery and do a nandroid backup before modifying any voltage settings.

I couldn't find any data sheets on the Samsung S5PC111 (hummingbird) power usage that would be helpful so I tested and tested and tested. The result was a stable 1.6Ghz maximum setting. Yes, I did say 1.6Ghz on the Samsung Stratosphere.

As you can see the memory benchmark drops off at 1600Mhz. I ran Quadrant 3 times at 1600Mhz and each time the memory score was lower than any run at 1500Mhz. I think this may have to do with all the built in chipset controllers and such on the S5PC111 (hummingbird) processor. These settings may work for other phones with the Hummingbird processor too but I don't have any other devices to test them on. I would recommend anyone that uses any overclock over 1200mhz to use profiles in SetCPU to lower the frequency when charging or the phone starts to get hot while overclocked and charging. Well a couple days ago my dog pulled the phone off the desk by its chord as he ran by and when it fell the battery came out, and I was disappointed to find that when I turned it back on it was in a bootloop. All I had done up to that point was root and I had some of the bloatware removed. Thanks go out to knightcrusader for the cwm work he did (great job got me out of a pinch) and to dwitherall for the stock bloated EI2 /system backup you posted that really helped out. I however found the tweakstock rom buggy and didn't like not having backup assistant as I have about 300 contacts in my phone that I need to maintain.

After getting it back to stock I decided I was gonna remove ALL the bloatware and so I now have (even market and google maps). The only app I now have in the app tray that I don't want is Mobile Hotspot (if anyone nows how to remove it safely it would be appreciated?

I used SetCPU and limited my phone to 800mhz max as now without all the extra apps it boots in about 15 to 20 secs and runs smooth on 800mhz. I also set the minimum to 100mhz and have switching set as On Demand. Here are my settings after a couple days of testing for stability.

I ran the stress test in SetCPU for 10 mins on these settings and Have run Quadrant on them a few times and then used the phone for the last couple days without any problems on these settings. I will update new settings as I slowly lower them and test stability in the next couple weeks. Anyone else that has tested to see how much power they can save with this CPU I would like to hear your results. Today in the 7 hours I had the phone off the charger I talked for a total of almost 5 mins on the phone and sent and recieved 180 texts and the phone still had 86% battery and the screen was the highest usage with phone idle being right behind it on the list. So I know removing the apps and undervolting/underclocking has resulted in a HUGE battery life increase and it doesn't heat up anymore when under heavy usage even while charging. In my opinion this is how the phone should have shipped.

Out of curiosity how was tweakstock buggy? And fwiw, you could have flashed backup assistant back using the resources in the OP of the tweakstock thread.
As far as oc/uv go, I don't tinker much - though maybe I should given your results!

You removed Market and Maps from your Stratosphere, and want no apps in your app tray? What is the point of owning a smartphone if your cripple it from getting or having any apps?

I Still have apps. I basicly removed everything except browser and gallery that start up at boot and I didn't want. I Installed all my apps from my Droid 2 onto this phone after backing them up to the sd card then putting it in this phone. I then used market to update them and then removed market. As for google maps I can go to maps.google.com and load up any map and it will pull my location from my phone through the browser. I don't need a bunch of apps that start up randomly every 5 mins to half hour after I close them. I don't need google maps open half the day while my phone is in my pocket because it decided to open itself. I think the app management in froyo and gingerbread (the two distro's of android I've had) sucks. I hope ICS is better but I haven't played with it for more than maybe 5 mins on a friends zoom tablet. I use my phone as a phone, camera, wifi hotspot, flash drive, and occasionally to ftp something with file explorer or stream a movie with my media server. I don't need fagbook or slacker constantly on when I'm not using them, but yet without them I can still listen to my media collection anytime I want and actually close the app and not have it reopen itself. Oh, and guess what, my battery lasts a good day and a half with light use. Compared to maybe 10 hrs if I was lucky the way it came from verizon. My Phone is still fully functional it just boots quicker and runs smoother and cooler than yours. I'm actually thinking about installing a custom linux to my phone with xfce desktop and seeing if I can't get the chipsets to work. First I have to figure out the bootloader however, which noone seems to be able to help me with.

Edit: I still have calculator, calendar, camera, gallery, memo, advanced task killer, browser, root explorer, setcpu, quadrant, my files, wifi tether, file explorer, voice recorder, music player, video player, backup assistant, superuser, android mediaserver, and xtralogic remote desktop. A lot of times I have problems updating apps when new ones come out if they are the full version I bought (depends on the developer for if they will work with me on getting a new apk) sometimes I might have to reinstall market to update an app. I'm not sure but I might still be able to push a purchased app to my phone with google play store online too. I'm not sure with having removed it but com.android.vendor is still working.

I've noticed an issue with your settings........ for 1000mhz you have

1000Mhz......1250mV......12.8%......1080mV...-160mV

But.... -160mV comes to 1090mV
and... -170mV comes to 1080mV

so where do i set it?

Your right I had it set at 170. I think I moved them all like 20mV above those settings because they were the lowest stable settings and I wanted to be safe. For a different chipset and to be safe I would use these settings.

1200Mhz...1220mV...-130mV
1000Mhz...1110mV...-140mV
800Mhz.....1010mV...-190mV
400Mhz.......880mV...-170mV
200Mhz.......790mV...-160mV
100Mhz.......700mV...-250mV

And if you set the governor to 'conservative' it will slowly increase and decrease the processor speed so it doesn't go straight to 1200Mhz every time you touch then screen, and instead goes slower from 100mhz to 200 400 and climbs as high as it needs but doesn't always max out. I actually have my profile set between 100mhz and 800mhz with apps removed and those settings above and have about 2 days battery life if I keep the wifi off and keep use to a minimum. I find it charges far quicker also. When I got it I couldn't charge it by usb if I was talking on it or something cause it actually used more than the charger could provide. Now it charges over usb even when being used.
