I learned something that will help everyone trying to change their avatar on an Android tablet. My tablet, like most I believe, defaults to landscape view, and the site wouldn't display that particular page in landscape properly, so I couldn't access the save avatar button till I rotated into portrait mode. I guess it's either an Android bug, or the site expects you to access that page from the typical phone view.
So all you tablet guys, change your avatar in portrait mode
