Ah responses. @James - I can live in
suspense, no problem. I asked because I appeared in both a lot recently. But I don't do much. My friend and everyone's Spencerdl I can understand getting in to the lists, but it must be for posts in a very short time span where I am concerned.
I played a little game with myself a few times (no not that one!) where someone I like in general on the forums (3 people) and who I had reason to thank recently, appeared at say #3 - #6 thanked. I went back to threads and thanked more of their posts (not you Spencerdl I think) to see if they would jump up higher. They didn't.
A little short term cheating, and I won't do it again, but I want to crack that secret. :)

It's set manually by senior ambassadors and moderators as a form of recognition, and encouragement to do more, right?
