So I'm eager to try a wear OS smartwatch and this Skagen Falster 2 just looks amazing! If i'll buy, it'll be my first smartwatch.

So I'm wondering if it's worth the pricetag? (320 euro's). I hear some fuss about the new SoC 3100 which isn't in this smartwatch. Is it wise to buy or is it wiser to wait a couple of months when we start to see more watches with the newer 3100?

MWC is a lil over a month away, any expectations more watches will be announced from the fossil group (and perhaps sub-brand) Skagen?

    Like to hear your thoughts!

I don't have any direct experience with the Falster 2, but from what I understand about the Snapdragon 3100, the only advantage over the older 2100 is modestly improved battery life. There isn't supposed to be any noticeable improvement in performance or speed, because the CPU architecture is essentially the same. So instead of the watch lasting a day on a single charge, it might last a day and a half. I'd rather not have to charge something in the middle of the day, so I'm used to just charging my watch when I go to sleep -- that extra half day isn't going to matter to me, personally.

Well I can chip in with my own considerations. From what I've read, you might squeeze more wear time out of the watches with the 3100, but as said performance is the same since it's the same architecture basically.

Right now I can squeeze about 1,5 day out of my Skagen Falster 2, but so far it hasn't been necessary - so whenever I charge my phone, I charge my watch like it's second nature.
So I decided not to wait until the come out with a Skagen watch with the 3100 chip(which honestly doubt they will seeing the poor upgrade it really is).

As to whether it's a good buy, I'm personally still on the fence about. It's a beautiful attempt of a smartwatch, but I have so many bugs with it atm that I'm honestly thinking of returning it. I You can read about it here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/sk...ml#post6447232

I've been telling everyone I can about this -- I recently got a couple of Michael Kors Access Grayson watches from TJ Maxx (the discount retailer, like Marshall's or Ross), one for $139, the second for $99. MK, like Skagen and pretty much all of the well-known designer brand smartwatches, is from Fossil, and they do a pretty nice job here. Pretty soon after I got it, the system updated to the latest Wear OS 2.2 "H" version. Battery with the display always on lasts until midnight without problems (it's been down to 30-40% by the time I put it back on the charger). So if you're in the market for a nice-looking Wear OS watch, check out your local TJ Maxx!

I've also seen a Diesel On Full Guard and an Armani Exchange Connected at my local store. Prices are generally around $150 or less.
