Root Failed?

Alright, I'm a noob to Android phones and what not but I have a friend who explained rooting to me and sent me to a video. I downloaded SuperOneClick, the USB Drivers and .NET Framework for my 64 bit Windows 7. I put my Samsung Captivate in Debug mode and Rooted it. It said it was successful and I was given the Superuser app. Well, I couldn't use Metamorph, a root only app, can't install 3rd party apps, so I got the feeling I may not have rooted successfully. I downloaded a Term Emulator and it says my phone is NOT rooted ($). What do I do?
