Is it possible to somehow "fool" an app into "thinking" it has some permission which you disabled, so that it works normally? One banal example: Using Permissions Denied, I cancel the right to access contacts to Facebook app. The app seems to still work; however, it will crash as soon as you enter its settings. There are a lot of other possible scenarios with other apps that require "special permissions" (despite those permissions not being always "mission critical"), but a lot of them won't even work if you cancel them. (E.g. in the first example you don't even need the permission to access contacts if you don't plan to sync contacts; the same goes for calendar access, camera access, direct dialing etc.)
What I'm thinking of is something like iOS has: If you flip the switch to deprive an app its wish to access Contacts, Calendar, Photos etc., it will just have to live with that fact, and still work (except that you won't have direct access to the aforementioned rights/data from that app -- not a problem if you don't need it there). Is there some workaround for these cases possible on Android, with or without root, with or without custom ROM?
