    1. A strange eye shaped icon notification never seen before appeared yesterday on my phone's top bar with chinese typing in it. Clicking on icon open browser at blog.avenc.tw saying could not load the page. Clicking on chinese typing appears a red dot with a white x in the middle of the screen that actually lock it. Clicking it disappears and unlock the screen.
    2. After few touches analyzing this behaviour the notifications became 4, with different chinese typing.
    3. When swiped notifications disappeared, and 4 'software update' shortcuts with android icon appeared on screen, that I deleted
    4. Since then just the small red dot locking the screen appears every time phone recovers from sleep mode. Checking activities looks like is activated by software update.

Phone works normally, url isn't blacklisted, updated avast antivirus can't find anything wrong on device.

Definitely there's something wrong going on, do you have any hint about what is it and how dangerous? And any suggestion to eradicate it or better just do a factory reset?
    Many thanks for reading

Lookout, avast and antivirus embedded into clean master says is everything ok but the red dot still there. Clock alarms are blocked by this and now I have to press the dot and digit pin to answer an incoming call

the spyware could be named "Software Update", there are some apps like that. if this is activated by such an app, then yes it could be dangerous... try to force close and disable it and see what happens
