Hello, whenever I swipe from bottom left or bottom right corner, it makes the display area smaller. How is this feature called, what is it good for and how do I disable it? It really annoys me, because often when I try to open camera from the lock menu, it does this instead. I have Xperia XA1 with Android 8. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! It's probably one-handed mode -- see this help page: https://support.sonymobile.com/us/xp...-applications/

It's called one handed operation. It can be disabled by the following:
    Settings
    One Handed Operations
Resize screen slider to the off position.
