Backup of photos

Hi everyone.

I have a Sony xperia z1 compact with a 16gb sd card. I've had it for a couple of years now and so the card is basically full at the moment. my plan is to either get a 32 or 64 card so I'd be alright for a while with taking pictures and such.
Thing that worries me is the date of the pictures I have saved. It doesn't seem like they're going to keep the original dates. I've tried copying some of then to my computer and back to my phone and my phone sees them as if they were just taken now.

Any idea how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! This doesn't answer your question directly, but how do you feel about backing up your photos to the cloud (like in Google Photos)? This will preserve the date and order, and will also keep your photos safe, because flash memory will always be at some risk for failure (and besides that, phones can be lost or stolen).
