Z1, 5.0.2 and the disappearing vibration

Since getting Lollipop 5.0.2 on the phone, the vibration settings seems to be of no importance. The most annoying issue is that the native alarm app does not set off the vibrator. The vibrator seems to be disabled by a force mightier than anything else in the phone. When running the vibration test in Diagnostics, it fails. The vibrator is utterly OFF. For a while...because it will come back...and then disappear again. ANNOYING!
Anyone else experienced this?
Any fix?
