Do I have to manually clear the task manager or can I do it in one button?

May I suggest that you not even consider closing all apps with one tap? I assume you're talking about a task manager that closes apps, not the Recent Apps list.

The way Android works, the RAM is supposed to remain mostly full of open apps. If you close apps, the system will just open them again (or open different apps). See these articles for more info:

Unfortunately, the "close all" button disappeared in the move from KitKat to Lollipop.

The difference between a full list and a clear one is ... about nothing, unless the app you want to run is showing on the screen. Clearing the list doesn't close the apps or remove them from RAM, it just removes them from the list. Then there's nothing there, so if you want to run an app you ran recently, it's not there. If it's 15 apps up, it's also not convenient. But the last 4 or 5 apps are ready for you to run with a tap.

The "close all" button was really worthless. First, it didn't "close" anything, and second why would you care if there are apps showing in the list - it has no effect on how the phone is operating.

Well this is fairly life changing and goes against everything I've ever read. I've been having much quicker battery drain since installing lollipop - might this be due to clean master and one tap boost apps I've installed?
