D6603 Battery Life after most recent update

So I have the D6603 and am using it on AT&T, I've had no complaints thus far. I had the Sony software update pop up today and I'm pretty gun shy about updating with the reports of battery drain. I am hoping to get impressions from those who have updated, how's your battery life been? Any better? Worse? Anything both good or bad would be great to hear. Also does stamina mode actually work? I've always had it on but some say it's better to turn it off.

I don't have a Sony phone, but ignore any reports you get of "excessive" battery use for the first few days after the update. Android does that for every update. Then it settles down again. Look for reports from people who have been running the update for a week or more.

Been running the update for a while now with the same battery life as before as far I can notice

For me the messaging app will run and murder my battery. This usually follows a reset. Once I force stop the app my battery life returns to super fantastic.
