Why is there no software support for z3v?

When the phone is connected via the usb it pops up as a removable disc that doesn't allow you to view any of the files on it. When I try to do it over Wifi it doesn't work either. I downloaded pc companion and other useless programs from sony's site. Nothing seems to support this phone. How am I supposed to get pics and music on and off the phone via my laptop? Sony and Verizon have been useless in answering this question.

sorry to hear your having issues...when i plug my usb into my computer, then into my phone it automatically connects as MTP (media transfer mode) then explorer pops up with the 2 folders, internal and SD card??

unfortunatly i found out the hard way too that none of the Sony software works with the Z3v.....
