So i just updated to 2.2 manually, and EVERYTHING is gone, literally everything. I did the directions as instructed on the update, and its like a whole new phone.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, the update software said that flashing the phone would delete all of your content. Nothing you can do, you have to setup everything again. Anything that was on your SD card should still be there, but it wiped your phone

They used the Windows Installer which is basically "Odin" and it wipes the entire system.

The manual update.zip or OTA retains your devices data/setup.

That sucks! I loaded the update.zip file to my SD card and updated EB13 that way and it worked fine. The PC update method seems to add too many uneccessary steps.

mine did it too, but it slowly brought everything back over the course of about an hour.....it was frustrating and scary...nothing worked for awhile, but after an hour, all was fine again.

I updated doing it the way A/C told me: downloading the mac version and installing on the phone and I had everything still there. I'm guessing the off phone does a recovery and via phone ota or update.zip is just and update.
