Stuck download

I have an apk application that a developer I'm working with sent to me. I opened the email message from the developer and clicked on the apk attachment to download it. The download started, showed up in the status bar, but it won't stop. It's been a few hours and it's still there.

I have powered down the phone, tried killing a bunch of apps, but I can't get it to stop. How can I kill it? Thanks.

I finally fixed this by going to 'Settings > Apps > All > Download Manager' and doing a force stop. That did the trick.

That's the trick. I've encountered this a few times. You may need to clear data too if it comes back.

Yep...I found that out too. Just killing the app didn't do it - it came right back. I had to kill the app and then clear the data.

I'm having the same problem. I killed Download Manager, Downloads, and Pocket Casts, and it is still coming back. I don't want to clear all my podcast subscriptions and downloaded episodes though.

OK. I think I got it. I cleared there data from the download manager and it seems to be gone. Thanks
