Bluetooth pairing issue

Trying to pair with my car stereo, usually not an issue with past devices.

It finds device ok, the moment I tap it, it tries to connect and errors due to incorrect passkey.

Issue being, it never prompts me to enter the correct key, and can't seem to find any additional settings or options to allow my input.

Any ideas out there?

I had this same issue with my new JVCs today (R800BT and also an X80BT in my other car). There are three steps in the JVC manual, and step #2 wasn't ever coming up as an option. Step #2 is "Select Yes to confirm the passkey." What the instructions should say is "When Vol - Yes appears on the JVC display, press the Control Dial." This is only onscreen twice, for about 3 seconds each time. This completed the pairing.
