Can someone explain to me how exactly how Google Now is suppose to work on the Note 2.

I understand if you long press the home button the Google Now symbol is located directly in the middle underneath the multitask window, and you can press it to access the cards. But I was under the impression that Google Now cards worked like an automatic pop up on the homescreen with information relevant to the user? Is it suppose to work as a pop up, or does the user have to long press the home button and select the Now symbol to access the cards?

Does it work as a pop up on the Nexus devices, or does the user have to purposely press something to access the cards?

I've been using Google Now on my Galaxy S3 for a long time (running CM10 or the touchwiz jellybean leaks) and as far as I've been using it, it seems to just add in a notification in the notification area with relevant information. It shows my how long my commute to work is as a notification on days I have work (which it figured out on its own) and a notification on eta to get home whenever I'm out of the house. I usually also get a notification for weather about once or twice a day. I have it set up for Lakers games and it always has a notification the day of the game and as the game progresses, the notification updates with the score. Other than that, whenever I need information, hitting the Google search bar takes me straight to Google Now and I get to see all the cards at once. Hope this helps!

It will also take appts out of your calender and tell you when to leave to make it on time, it also pulled out of my email when I had a check in schedule.

Go to the Settings in Google Now to see all the automated notifications that are available.

It isn't a popup but a notification that shows up in the bar on top of the phone and in the notification drop down area. It will vibrate/make a noise when there is a relevant notification that matters. For example, when I had an appointment in my Calender, it notified me about 10 minutes before I had to leave to make it to the appointment on time (assuming your appointment has an address). Small things like this make it very useful. It does seem stalker-ish especially since it recognized all my relevant addresses because I spend time there but it is very helpful and I enjoy it. I already know Google has everything about me so I use it to make my life easier.

I see all the notifications if I access it, but I was thinking it was a pop up so I wouldn't have to purposely access it.

I will check the settings to see about notifications, ringtones, vibrations etc.

HI, Hi I'm a Sprint Product Ambassador and am here to help.

You can change/adjust the notifications per card.
    Maybe this will help.
