I didn't realize but WF activates your phone when they receive a notice it has been delivered. This doesn't really work for me as my phone will be at home and I'm going to be at work. My account is a renewal...so I'm not sure if it's different for new accounts or ports.

So I chatted with CS and they said they will note my account and will not activate until I contact them. They said to NOT contact Sprint for activation, probably because it'll void out the deal I got for the phone, if you contact Sprint for activation it takes WF out of the loop and you basically get a new phone off contract for $149. Chances are WF will be sending you a bill for the balance.

Knowing my past experiences with CS's though I'm sure my phone is gonna come tomorrow, they'll activate it and I'll be stuck for the next 6 hours with no service on my BB.

    Fingers crossed.

Yep yep. I had mine delivered to my office for this reason. This is buried in the fine print somewhere that I remember reading when I was scouring for how bad Wirefly was going to have me by the juevos for the first 6 months of my contract.

UGH! This sucks for me. They told me specifically that the phone would not ship until Friday so I had it delivered to my sister's house since I'll be flying out there Saturday. Now it's showing shipped and will be at my sister's house Friday. I'll be a whole day minus a phone grrr.

What does this mean? So the moment the phone is delivered to your address (whether someone signed for it or it gets left on your doorstep) that phone will be activated right away and our current phones won't work anymore?

Basically, yes. It's what I believe all this to mean.

This is what my status page says. Look under the "Important" part. But it does tell me that the date the service is scheduled to be live is "Transferred when delivered" So I don't know what to think.

    Ports and Exchanges
The estimated activation or number transfer date for each new device is shown below. The dates are coordinated with each carrier and once set, cannot be changed. For more information on device activation please click here.

Important: To prevent interruption to your current service, your device is being sent to you “unactivated”. Please refer to your package for important instructions to complete the transfer of your mobile number to your new device.

You will probably have to contact them to activate. Which is what I asked them to allow me to do.
