- Expose them for selling an opened and used piece of technology as new, which is against the law in many states.09-18-2011 02:28 AMLike 0
- Well you clearly need to be taught them if you're defending what they did. Retailers like best buy have zero tolerance for this crap (as well they should), and if this employee gets fired it's his own fault. Actions have consequences. It's a lesson that seems to be lost on many of the younger workers these days.

Yes best buy fires them it is their thing, but me asking them to be fired is just me being a ****, sorry I take no pride in such things, there are other punishments that one might seek then demanding for someone's job. May be some people grow a few more balls by doing such things.09-18-2011 04:19 AMLike 0 - I can understand you being a little upset. I hate things like that. When I buy something new, I expect it to be new. From now on, I think I'll just buy phones from Amazon. I can't stand paying for a new phone and watching some guy open it and set up my phone for me. I would like to do it myself. The store should just scan what they need to scan outside of the box, and leave the merchandise alone. Unless the customer ask for assistance to set up the phone. Amazon probably has someone to do the set up as well, but at least I wont have to watch them do it.09-18-2011 05:46 AMLike 0

- Jessicalt1Lover of all things AndiLOL was there any damage to the phone? The guy probably didn't even know that phone was being sold, I am sure I have flipped people off at work, thinking it was their phone. Why not get the person in trouble who took the picture. I doubt the guy flipping off would put himself on the camera of a phone that was being sold. I think it is kinda unfair to the guy flipping off the camera. My friend did the same at work when I was taking his picture the other day.
Please dont tell me no one here has flipped a camera off where their friend is taking a picture, it happens all the time. That looks like a room, so it is not on the sales floor. I get the idea of behaving and being professional but I highly doubt the guy who was flippin off the camera knew it was going to be sold. He most likely thought it was his friends or something. Again the person who is taking the picture probably knew what was going on then the person who is on the camera.
Not advocating that this should be done, but we all know people do stupid things at work. Please dont try to teach me manners as I have done plenty of good things in my life, lol.
as far the phone goes, I agree you should be getting a new phone. As I wouldn't be comfortable with a phone being used prior to me buying it.09-18-2011 05:11 PMLike 0 -

- ANOTHER reason I despise Best Buy now...
For a long time I was a huge shopper of the location near me. Even got the silver/premier Reward Zone card due to the amount I used to spend.
But when the whole HP Touchpad hysteria broke out, my friend and I went to the store to get mine the next morning after ordering mine online thru BB.com in-store pickup. I got all the confirmation emails, saying "Your device is ready to be picked up Sunday morning!", etc.
I get there, get in line, show them my paperwork, and they said, "Yeah we saw your order. It is good to go. Head to customer services"
So I head to that department, and they spend 5 minutes looking for my order... and the cashier comes up to tell me they don't have it. I got pretty upset. Found the store manager, who spewed some BS to me and said that I had to talk to the "Store operations manager" or something.
I talk to him, and then he goes looking around. Some cashier is telling THE MANAGER what to say to me, the customer. Unbelievable. I am in retail as a manager, and I couldn't believe what was going on. I knew I was gonna get screwed. He tells me basically I'm out of luck and "wait for it to come here and we'll call you." "Well I know that they're not coming back, I have ALL the emails printed out."
I show him the emails and then I tell him the cashier that said I was good to go. The cashier basically said I was lying, to my face. BIG no-no. I got his name, along with everyone I spoke with, and reported them to corporate. I showed them my silver RZ card, said that you're not getting $2K/year again. I'm done shopping there, haven't gone back since.
Yet, nothing was heard from them, and this is almost a month later. Shocker. Best Buy can suck a fat one.09-18-2011 09:30 PMLike 0 -
