Hey everyone!

Now, I don't have all the gentle move answers because some things weren't important to me, but here are my modifications to bring the things I love over from the 3D.

Keyboard:

The stock keyboard had smallish keys and prediction that was..horrible compared to my HTC keyboard.

I installed:

https://market.android.com/details?id=net.cdeguet.smartkeyboardtrial&feature=search_result

Switch the skin to "HTC", make sure symbols are set to be on the keys, turn on smart dictionary and it's amazing, lightning fast and nearly identical.

Price: $0.00 w/ a very infrequent nag screen.

Browser:

My anger towards the browser resulted from the fact that a double tap would not reformat the screen to make it large while still making everything fit well. To correct this I went into settings and turned "Auto-Fit" on, it is unchecked by default and after you do this it will match HTC's zoom defaults.

The next two weren't worth the battery use to me, but will really help push things to be more Sense like:

Lock Screen:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.SenseScreen_charge&feature=search_result

Price: $1.37

"Are you still envy of the brilliant lock screen of Sense 3.0? Now, as long as your phone is Android system, you will be able to experience the beauty of the lock screen. Only
use one button, you can choose to use this agile lock screen or system default screen.Drag the bottom circle to the top can unlock screen.
This program has a lot of setting options: font, font color, font size, background settings, shortcuts settings, etc., must be well meet your needs."

Widgets

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fede.launcherproplusunlocker&feature=search_result
Price: $3.49

- Super-smooth scrolling
- Animated screen previews (like Expos? or HTC Sense)
- Up to 7 home screens
- App drawer (2D and 3D!) with a fly-in effect and smooth scrolling
- Scrollable shortcut dock
- HTC Widgets (Weather, Calendar, Friendstream etc..)

Other Misc. items:

Mirror:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zeobo.android.mirror&feature=search_result

Mirrors the mirror application from the Evo 3D.

Evo 3D Wallpapers:

https://market.android.com/details?id=kov.gallery.evothreed&feature=search_result

A wallpaper dump of the 2D wallpapers from the Evo 3D

Hope that helps anyone coming over! The only widgets I miss are weather and friend stream...if social hub would just start working I'd say good enough and call it a day. :) I miss my 3D's software, but the hardware on this GSII is just..amazing.

Yes! Great topic! I'm coming from WebOS and all the tips and cool stuff are going to make my transition a whole lot more interesting and fun!

Rob

PS One tip that I need, I had used PocketMirror to sync my Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes. Chapura does not make a PocketMirror version for Android. I've been reading about Kies but its been said that it only does Contacts and Calendar, not Tasks and Notes.

Another thread talked about two paid apps (I can't remember the names off the top of my head). So if anyone here ends up selecting something that they really like, please let me know!

Thanks!

A favorite I've heard people talk about (and a google search seems to suggest is popular) costs..nearly 50 bucks.
Android Sync Software - Sync contacts, calendar, tasks and notes -- CompanionLink Software

If you can sync contacts and calendar already than this will sync tasks for $5:
https://market.android.com/details?id=de.cranktheory.android.tasks&feature=search_result

For notes you can either use this free app that acts as a work around:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.pavlicek.exchangenotes&feature=search_result

or pay $14.95 for this:

Sorry those aren't the best suggestions. I don't use outlook anymore since we switched to Google Apps for driving those products. Samsung used to have some funny sync software back in the moment days...wonder if they make anything any more...hmm.

Good luck!
