Would leaving debugging mode option on create a drain on the battery?

I've searched and came across this...

Also, what is the difference between USB Debugging Mode and USB Mass Storage, under USB Utilities?

In what scenario would I use either of these options?

    Thank you for the help.

Unless there is a bug, it is highly doubtful enabling USB debugging would have any noticeable affect on battery life.

USB debugging mode is for connecting adb.

USB mass storage is for making your phone a micro sd card reader when connected to a PC.
