I'm considering upgrading from my HTC EVO 4G (which I love, but wish it had better battery life) to the GS2. I've added Beautiful Widgets, Launcher Pro, & WidgetLocker, all of which I purchased. Can I somehow transfer these purchased apps to the GS2 if I reset the EVO to stock?

I have another question too. I was comparing my EVO to the GS2 today in the Sprint store and loaded the same YouTube vids at the same time. The GS2 loaded & started playing the video much faster. Is this due to the faster processor?

Yes the GS2 is faster as it has a dual core processor. You can still have your purchased applications to your new GS2 phone as long as you're using the same Google account. I just added one of my paid applications to my new GS2 phone. I emailed the application website to ask for instructions on how to transfer it to my new phone. The website told me as long as I was using the same Google account from which I purchased the application from.

when you log into Google account, and go into market under "my apps" at the bottom it shows uninstalled apps. Just click on it and it will give you the choice to install.

The GS2 is in another league then the EVO 4G. It will do everything faster and better plus the battery life will be like night and day compared to that thing.

I think I'll miss the kickstand on the EVO. Are there any cases that have a good kickstand that will allow it to sit landscape for YouTube viewing?

The sprint store has one that does the trick for 20 bucks I think

I just made this exact upgrade 2 weeks ago. I can't believe how much faster the S2 is. The battery life is also awesome. I got the Body Glove case with kickstand because that was the only feature of the EVO that I missed. I would definitely recommend this upgrade you won't be sorry.

Great to hear mhaner. Is there anything else you miss on the EVO?

I know the GS2 hasn't been out as long, but does it seem to be pretty reliable? I'm also a little concerned that Samsung doesn't seem to do as many OTA updates as HTC does, like upgrading it to the next version of Android?

Oh mhaner, does the GS2 use the same car charger as the EVO? It's always nice to reuse accessories!

Any micro usb charger will work. I use a Motorola charger to charge my S2, Moto photon, and all 3 of my evo's.

It's been confirmed that we will get an official ICS on these phones, plus CM9 is being developed so we will get ICS on them one way or another.

I got one off Ebay for $12.95. Only thing I didn't care for was it made the phone bulkier.

The only actual thing the Evo has over the GS2 is the option of turning off sound but you have root to fix that

Go to settings>sound>vibration and set to never. Now you have the option of Sound or Silent instead of Sound/Vibrate.
