Did any notice that you can no longer search by nickname?

Hi,

I was able to search my contacts by nickname on GB.

Now after the upgrade to ICS, I can no longer search by nickname or any other shortcut.

On my old Treo I was able to search on the first letter of the first name and the first letter of the last name.

Can't even do that now.

I have to type out the full name to get my contact.

Is this due to the Apple/Samsung lawsuits?

Is there any work around to get some better search functions back.

I am rooted, so I have no problem with installing an add on.

Yes, I did notice that when I upgraded my SGH-i777 on AT&T to ICS recently. It's very annoying. I always keep my contacts' full, formal names in my address book, and it's a bit of a hassle to have to use their full name when I don't address them casually with it. I also miss having to type out my parents' names when I want to contact them -- before I could just use "Mom" and "Dad" since I had those entered as their nicknames.
