I see. That's unfortunate for sure. We usually suggest not rooting devices, but understand why some prefer to do so. Have you attempted a hard reset on the device, with the soft keys? This may not resolve the issue but wouldn't hurt either.

The publisher of that web site should be brought before a firing squad for posting instructions that don't make clear it's only for the i9300 version of the phone. Of course, it's also true that phone owners should do a lot more research than some of them seem to do before attempting something as fraught with risk as rooting.
